Her Name in Lights – A different spin on Chanukah with NCJWA NSW
Jewish women in the movies is the theme of an innovative Chanukah party being thrown by the revitalised National Council of Jewish Women NSW at the revitalised Bondi Pavilion on Wednesday evening December 21.
Open to all – not just women – the party will appeal to all ages, with segments including a fascinating talk and showreel by movie maven Don Perlgut about the role Jewish women have played in Hollywood and Bollywood as actors, directors and even inventors; Chanukah food and drink; and music from the Chanukah classics to Hollywood tunes, in a live performance by a young torch singer.
This will be a light-filled celebration, with guests in SHINE themed costumes and the lights of Bondi visible out the window over the ocean. The antithesis of the tired old limp latkes Chanukah parties of old.
