Reg Livermore, a living legend of the stage gives his all in his hilarious new one-man play The Widow Unplugged now showing at the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. Reg as actor, comedian and raconteur Arthur Kwick, instantly transforms the audience back in time by thrusting Arthur on stage, an old ham if ever there was one. I felt like I was observing the dying days of a 1960s Tivoli Theatre Theatre performer, all wisecracks and miss pronounced one-liners.
No doubtful The Widow Unplugged is a masterclass in how to keep an audience engaged; its got charm, humour, and energy….a whacky storyline gives it a unique flavour and at times a serious note. If you love Reg, don’t miss this tour de force, I’m glad I didn’t.
Written and performed by Reg Livermore, THE WIDOW UNPLUGGED showcases Reg’s singular comic talent. Reg was one of the founding members of Ensemble Theatre, and it is very apt to have him tread the boards for the theatre’s 60th anniversary.
