When Vivid hits Sydney each year it’s New Year Eve crowds every night.  Vivid Sydney is owned and managed by Destination NSW, and celebrates Sydney as the creative hub of the Asia-Pacific with large scale light installations and projections; free family events; music performances and collaborations; and creative ideas, discussions and debates.

Crowd favourite Vivid Light is produced and curated by agbevents, led by the very talented Anthony Bastic.  He believes that, “Vivid, now in its sixth year is firmly established as one of the greatest light festivals in the world, which is attributed to the creativity of the artists involved and the vision of the New South Wales government.”

Over fifty artists from around the world are transforming Sydney’s open spaces and buildings into works of art – projections, giant installations, moving imagery – it has got the lot.

Here is a peak at some of the installations you can see on the Vivid Sydney Light Walk, which takes in the world famous Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, Martin Place, the historic Rocks area as well as Walsh Bay.

Accompanying Vivid Light is Vivid Ideas and Vivid Music – a true celebration of creativity and innovation .  My advice is don’t miss Vivid Sydney if you are in town!

Vivid Sydney is an 18 day festival of light, music and ideas – nightly from 6pm till midnight till 9 June.
