Bestselling book, documentary and now Netflix series, Unorthodox has cemented itself as part of the 2020 zeitgeist. Shalom is thrilled to announce Deborah Feldman in conversation with Michaela Kalowski.
Author Deborah Feldman was raised in the Satmar Hasidic community in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. She now lives in Berlin with her son. Deborah is the author of two memoirs, Unorthodox and Exodus.
Michaela Kalowski is an interviewer and facilitator for writers, film and ideas festivals. She’s interviewed writers and thinkers from the worlds of arts, science and politics. Highlight interviews include Margaret Atwood, Trent Dalton, Amos Oz, Tom Keneally, Turia Pitt and Charlotte Wood. Michaela has conducted radio interviews for ABC Radio National’s The Music Show and Big Ideas, and is on the Sydney Jewish Writers Festival programming committee.
